1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. They allow the site to recognize your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences. Similar technologies — such as local storage, pixels, and tags — perform comparable functions. In this policy, all of these are referred to as "cookies."
2. Why we use cookies
Signalho Insights uses a limited number of cookies to keep the Site secure, to remember your cookie-preference choice, and to understand how visitors use our pages in aggregate. We do not use cookies to perform cross-context behavioral advertising or to profile individual readers.
3. Categories of cookies we use
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the Site to function. They support core security features, store the choice you made on the cookie banner, and enable basic navigation. Without these cookies, the Site cannot operate properly. They cannot be disabled.
- sh_cookie_consent_v1 (local storage) — stores your cookie-banner choice. Retention: 12 months.
- Session cookie — keeps the Site responsive during your visit. Retention: until you close the browser.
3.2 Analytics cookies
These cookies help us understand which pages are visited and where readers experience difficulty, so that we can improve our content. The information is aggregated and does not directly identify any individual visitor. We configure analytics tools to pseudonymize IP addresses and to disable advertising features.
- _ga / _ga_* — used by privacy-respecting analytics to distinguish visitors. Retention: up to 26 months.
- _gid — used to differentiate users for a 24-hour period. Retention: 24 hours.
3.3 Functionality cookies
These cookies remember choices you make on the Site (such as your preferred text size or whether you have dismissed an informational banner). They are optional, and the Site will continue to work if you disable them.
4. Third-party cookies
Some of the cookies described above are set by third-party services we use to operate the Site (for example, an analytics provider or a content-delivery network). These third parties may process information about your visit on our behalf, subject to their own privacy policies. We do not allow these providers to use the information for independent advertising purposes.
5. How to control cookies
5.1 Cookie banner
The first time you visit the Site, a banner asks you to accept or decline non-essential cookies. Your choice is stored locally on your device. You can change it at any time by clearing your browser storage for the Site, which will display the banner again on your next visit.
5.2 Browser settings
All major browsers allow you to block or delete cookies through their settings. The method varies by browser; consult the help section of your browser of choice. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent some parts of the Site from functioning correctly.
5.3 Mobile devices
On mobile devices, you can additionally limit ad tracking through the privacy settings of iOS or Android. While our Site does not perform behavioral advertising, these system-level settings affect cookies set by third parties on websites you visit.
6. Do Not Track signals
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry consensus on how websites should respond to DNT. Signalho Insights does not engage in cross-context behavioral advertising regardless of whether a DNT signal is present, so our practices are aligned with the spirit of the request.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy when our practices change or when required by law. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. If we add new categories of cookies, we will re-prompt you with the cookie banner so that you can review your choice.
8. Contact
For questions about our use of cookies, please contact us through the contact form or at privacy [at] Signalho-insights [dot] example.
